To maintain all sorts of accounts relating to receipt and Payment, Budgeting, Auditing of Accounts overall management of finance and to keep constant liaison with the chairman, Finance officer and Account & Finance coordinator.
Cash
Receipt and payment of all sorts of cash and cheques to all individuals and contractors. Receipt challans from tax-collecting sircars, License collecting sircars and other departments. To keep contact with treasury Banks, Post office etc. for sub-mission and drawing govt. bills etc.
Personnel
Appointment, transfer, retirement, of employees, Maintain Service Books, General Administration, Board meeting, C.I.C meeting, Standing committee meeting, all others meeting relating to implementation of govt. decision B.O.C ,C.I.C, and other committee meetings. To provide staff benefit under D.C.R.B Rules. To take legal action against delinquent employees as per municipal service rules. To keep daily attendance of staff. To make all sorts of communication with the govt. and public etc. To checkup bills of salary, Overtime allowance, to arrange retiring benefits to municipal employees etc.
Educational and Social Security
To run the S.S.P centers, oversee ICDS centers, to provide Midday Meal for all the students of all Primary, Secondary and junior high school, to work for development of education within the municipal area. To work for social security programme under govt. instruction pregnant women under below poverty level one time financial assistance are given, one time financial help to the family due to unnatural deaths of the head of the family under BPL. To prepare BPL list of families and to provide BPL ration cards and to provide “Annapurna Antordaya” cards .To provide financial assistance under IGNOAPS, NFBS etc. To provide G.R as per instruction of govt. as and when required, besides Municipality often provide financial assistance to physically ill patients.
Information Technology
Municipality has its e-mail address id no- info@barasatmunicipality.org and has launched its website for the benefit of all the people. The municipality in the meantime arranged to issue birth & death Certificates and Trade license through computerized e-governance system. Municipal telephones are always open for the benefit of the people during the working day and working hours.
Public Information, Grievance & Redressal
People are always welcome to lodge any type of complains against the councilors, employees, and the authority is ready to resolve the complaints. People from different walks of life are welcome to our website and are also suggest any points for rectification or change Municipality has a grievance cell and the authority is always active to redress the grievances.
